Pros

Great benefits, pay is pretty good and can be great if you work more days per month. Airline and hotel point accrual. Full medical, dental, paid vacations. Some flexibility with scheduling.

Cons

The work at times is extremely difficult and includes light cooking, washing dishes, cleaning (including the toilet), berthing beds, etc. Also when you are not flying, but on a work day, for example at a hotel or at home, they can keep you on "standby" meaning they can call you out to fly at any moment. Also in a work day they are allowed to use you for 14 or the 24 hours as per the contract.

After 50 years, a company that still hasn't found itself

Pros

Senior management change was necessary. The company and morale was like a scene from the Wiz when the Wicked Witch sings "don't bring me no bad news". It was dark and sad place to work and everybody kept their head down so they did not get Jordan's wrath. When management changed it was similar to that movie, everyone shed their dark clothing and began singing "can you feel a brand new day". Senior management change is good, keep working your way down the management chain though.

Cons

Change was good but a long long way to go. We have found out the Wiz is still trying to find his way and really does not have any special powers. Just an ordinary man thrust into a position of power. There are still flying monkeys at middle management level he is either ignoring, afraid or unaware of and they are doing a good job of hiding. Need to review who are the people actually interacting with employees and not getting the message that the Wicked Witch is dead. Cutting bonuses was not a good morale booster and that blame is on new management not the old. Guessing all the money given to pilots and flight attendants is why the larger part of your staff got nearly nothing in bonuses and likely the same or none in the next 4 years. Spin it however you want but without an infrastructure you have no business. Shame on you!

Pros

Great people, industry leader with the best in class product and service, at least for now.

Cons

Current executive team practices all the bad management policies you can think of - micromanagement, no empowerment, want yes men instead of smart leaders who challenge them, management by fear and intimidation, believe employees are interchangeable pawns to be used and discarded, solely focused on profit maximization at the expense of customers and employees, paralysis by analysis, not practicing what they preach, valuing adherence to process over performance, not valuing independent thought or creativity. All of these issues are causing the best people to hit the exit door in droves and why you see a lot of job postings for the company.
