Pros
There were some opportunities to progress, but it did result in quite a bit of uprooting or travel. Within the office it was limited, but that was a local issue. Reasonable pension contribution Reasonable life insurance Reasonable childcare benefits Reasonable health care
Cons
I was part of the Convergys acquisition and things went downhill for our office. Numerous redundancies over a long period of time. Long periods of zero pay rises, partially due to economic outlook at the time, although pay rises for Indian colleagues. Offshore retention of skills and experience were also issues - linked to previous comment. Russian colleagues were not pleasant to work with - possibly cultural reasons No investment in training other than compulsory online courses. Little investment in staff despite having to effectively turn work away. Poor HR services (offshored) with expenses being a particular issue - e.g. 5p bags being rejected In hindsight our office was being run down gradually and work outsourced but I don't believe it proved very effective, although it would have saved a few pounds. It certainly encouraged a few people to move on.
