The Mission, but at what cost.

Pros

Make your own schedule, option to work remotely sometimes, mileage reimbursement, decent incentive plan if goal is obtained, but not guaranteed.

Cons

Overworked, micromanagement, unrealistic expectations, no support from management, toxic work environment. Vague and ambiguous language used in discussions of issues which is open to interpretation by all. Lack of consistency in this company. Employees are overworked, underpaid and constantly asked to do more. No unity in the organization- there's an "us vs them" mentality among departments. No work-life balance. 35 hour work week is actually 50+ hrs with the expectation of management. Incentive plan is not guaranteed and management uses it as a tool to encourage staff. Understaffed in all departments and work is unevenly distributed. Lack of appreciation for employees and improper comments made to employees regarding personal life.

Pros

Sick/vacation time is generous but typical for a non-profit. Raises don't keep up with inflation. Union is clueless and in bed with the company and could care less. NO room for growth.

Cons

If you are young and hungry do not work here. If you are a 40+ year old stay at home mom who is bored this job is for you. Changing of incentive plan with little to no notice. Plan slashed and changed every year. With the amount of time you put into your quarter it's not worth the little $$ Union is clueless and in bed with the company and could care less. NO room for growth.

Pros

The benefits package is the only pro. Other then that I would NOT recommend this company to anyone! People are promoted to managerial and supervisory positions and have NO clue how to manage or supervise anyone and what makes it worse is that NO training is provided to help these newly promoted managers and supervisors be the best that they can be. Upper management is so far disconnected with the organization that they have NO idea whats going on! The HR department is filled with people who NO one really knows besides one person, the Benefits Manager, she's the only person you can get in contact with when you call that department and its sad because most times you can tell she's two seconds away from having a mental breakdown. Everyone else who works in that department can never give you the answer you need when you call and theres always turn over, once you get familiar with someone there suddenly gone and a new person is there! I say they get rid of the entire department and start anew with a fresh staff! Your company is as strong as your HR department!

Cons

Everyone is sleeping with each other and dating each other which causes for an uncomfortable work environment! Stricter guidelines need to be put in place to avoid situations like these! Oh and lets not forget that the pay is horrible! if your not upper management you get paid the bare minimum! More paid holidays would be nice as well, you only get 6 at this place!
