Pros

Overall the mission at NYBC is great and fulfilling if you are interested in a more humane endeavor. The people who work there are great human beings and for the most part really care about what they are doing

Cons

As in any company management will be blamed for many problems but in the case of NYBC they unfortunately permeate throughout the leadership. It is a very reactionary environment where obstacles that should have been seen weeks if not months ahead of time are quickly dismissed and then the organization is surprised when it does not overcome these obstacles. Recruitment still uses direct mail and paper flyers as large part of its overall marketing mix and barely uses any kind of digital strategies to reach out to its donors. Most of the technologies are outdated and in a goal focused organization this can be frustrating as you are expected to meet these goals with obsolete tools.
