The atmosphere there is one that attracts intelligent people with big aspirations. Its a great environment with lots of great people.

Cons

The biggest con of working at the New York Times is the fact that he newspaper industry has been in trouble for a while now and slow to adapt. The New York Times is not unlike other newspaper companies who kept the focus on print while largely ignoring the numerous opportunities the internet offered to expand the readership.

Great recognition and opportunity to work within the best. Best web technology thinking best cooperation among producers Working with the best journalists A high level of respect for the work completed

Cons

management, management. Web management is problematic. Lots of tension between the "print" and "web" world. Too much of a divide and anxiety. Division of work is a problem. Web producers are expected to put in 50hours of work before they file overtime. It isn't stated but it is understood. They need more staff and better coverage.

The New York Times is a highly political place to work at. People on the business side are constantly talking behind other peoples backs and engaging in childish games.
