Pros

I'm in an exempt position, meaning non-union, non-guild) but the benefits package is still good, including PTO. Also, in my position, the work/life balance expectations are pretty humane.

Cons

The process for raise requests seems intentionally opaque in company messaging. The heads of my department are unable to or choose not to provide further clarity.

Pros

Commitment to quality, salary, stability

Cons

It can be bureaucratic, and it's a very top-down management structure.

Pros

Working for one of the only prestigious news orgs left. Big office. Looks good on a resume.

Cons

An unreasonable management at odds with the tech union. Makes for major morale issues. All positions are underpaid compared to others in the industry but management refuses to pay competitive comp nor benefits. There is also a major shift to return to office, with 2 days a week with 3+ indicated in the future.
