Pros
Because of the prestige of the company and how competitive each role, I have really some really smart and talented coworkers. Also given the audience size, you can see impressive scale and impact in your work.
Cons
The prestige is a double-edged sword and management treats employees like they're dispensable because "everyone wants your job." There are constant restructures and layoffs on the business side and no one feels secure in their jobs. It's a super high-pressure environment with terrible work-life balance — you're expected to be on call and available nights and weekends for emergencies. Most people don't take lunch breaks and work 10+ hour days. A lot of management is extremely toxic and will gaslight you but if you're not in a management role, you're going to be mistreated and there's no room to grow or get promoted. Pay is also low by industry standards and non-union health insurance is awful.
