Pros

It pays well. Guaranteed hours. Easy job to learn and be proficient in. Genuinely very good people that work there.

Cons

Mandatory overtime due to poor management. This job has its perks but this will be the thing that drives you away from this job in the long run. They run a skeleton crew that falters the second ONE person is sick, decides they can’t make it in, or they just quit. This is primarily prevalent during the night shift, but can also be present in the day shift depending on the plant itself. Instead of hiring more people to cover the operators, they’d rather just force their operators, who are already being worked to the bone, to come in and fill those gaps. Especially during the busy season around the summer, they will end up making you come in even more than usual. It’s so disingenuous to the point that when you get onboarded and they tell you that you’ll be working a 2-2-3 schedule, it is basically a lie, they are lying to you. Forcing your operators to work six day weeks, 12 hours a day, against their will isn’t a fun time, and doesn’t make your workers feel appreciated. As long as Niagara keeps running their plants this way, their turnover rate will always remain as high a it is.

Pros

Pay is better than average for now, Fair water price, Safety is a major concern, Very liberal hiring process. Some of the best people I have ever worked along side of

Cons

Age Discrimination, Rewards Non Merit Based, Long Day, Insurance is weak, Human Resources is Horrible, Sick Time yet punished in Attendence points if you take it, No training, Amount of trained help is limited thus the experienced workers are overworked after being passed over for promotions. High attrition rate.
