Pros

Really liked my direct teammates and department managers. Learned some new things to add to my skill set. Could be creative at times.

Cons

Have you ever had a workplace that you dreaded going in, to the point of depression? That was my experience. To my manager, I did nothing right. I came to work every day with a knot in my stomach, knowing I'd be yelled at for something, anything. I was told I was "dragging down the team”, “unproductive”, and “uninspired”. Then I was called “sensitive” because this criticism upset me. It was made clear that my opinions didn’t matter and I felt worthless. Nordstrom brags about their “open door” policy, but I never once felt comfortable enough to talk to someone. As far as the job itself, during my time there, the creative parts just kept shrinking and shrinking. I felt more like an (underpaid) professional mover than a merchandiser. There were floor moves multiple times a week, some of which I had to do myself because there was so many going on at once. No thank you.
