Pros
* Interaction with customers - I loved helping and developing relationships with customers * You can move up depending on your relationship with your Manager NOT performance
Cons
* RETURNS - returns are the worse thing in the world - you can start your shift with your sales being negative due to the fact that Nordstrom takes back EVERYTHING! Nordstrom is just a retail rental job, customers will wear items and then return them and it affects YOUR paycheck. It's very discouraging. * The only people making great paychecks are the employees who have been working there for years * Promoting unqualified employees in Management * Your sales are posted every day for everyone to see - which means other employees can calculate your paycheck * Department Managers receive perks based on employee sales - There are several contests for employee sales. For example, if an employee sold the most of a product - that employee received $200 gift cert to Nordstrom while the Department Manager receives an IPad. It's really tough to see when your manager is horrible to you.
