      Pros

      I derived a lot of personal satisfaction in the jobs that I had. I was able to use my creativity in all of my positions. I was always able to challenge myself. I developed strong friendships over the years.

      Cons

      The benefits to the employees slowly eroded. The recognition for the support areas of the company declined. Bonus opportunities were significantly reduced. Management expected people to work more without any type of compensation (financially or time off).

      Pros

      Great working environment with great opportunities for advancement. Nordstrom has excellent employee benefits which include 401k, profit sharing and a stock purchase plan. Lead by the Nordstrom family, executive leadership is very competent in running the company and as a result it has become a leader within its space.

      Cons

      The work schedule can be inconvenient since employees have to work weekends and holidays. Entry sales associate jobs are very physically taxing

      Pros

      - Typically leaves a good taste in peoples mouth with regards to sales experience and customer service expertise - "Full time" is 34+ hours - Great customers from time to time

      Cons

      - Unless you want to be a floor manager, it's a dead end retail job - CATTY CATTY CATTY! Fellow salespeople are only watching out for their own commissions, while management is only watching out for their ability to impress the buyers and other higher-ups - When the economy's bad, you have zero customers -The footwear (as a female) that you have to wear. 6 months of nothing but heels/flats have permanently messed up my bone structure in my feet.
