Pros

The pay is good for retail.

Cons

Department management is incompetent and inexperienced. People with actual management skills do not get placed in management, sales superstars do. These are two different skill sets and are not interchangeable. Nepotism runs rampant and there is blatant age discrimination. If you are over the age of 35, look out, there is undoubtably some 22 year old just itching to shove you out the door. Nordstrom has a fear of technology, and systems are ten years old or more, it should not take ten minuets to send an e-mail. The company has lost touch with its core customers by going higher and higher end.

discount, good job opportunities if willing to relocate, good pay if on commision and can sell well, promote from within

Cons

politics, not great compensation (no raises), idea that work should be your life with no time for family, long hours and an often stressful environment, return policy
