I can’t even...

Pros

I’m paid a reasonable way for my skill level and position.

Cons

I’ve been here for a few years and I’ve seen a lot of changes, but this has gotten out of control. In the past six months I have seen extremely talented and highly skilled leaders thrown out the door because of nothing more than politics. Our senior leaders have absolutely no moral bearing and it's costing us top talent. I’m disgusted and ashamed of where I work, and I can’t wait to leave. With my resume, I don’t need to be here and I won’t have trouble finding some place better.

Confused by the Negative Nellies

Pros

We are really lucky that we work for a company that after 25 years still knows what it takes to stay competitive. That means that we will change course on a dime when we need to in order to keep getting better. If you are someone who gets married to an idea or way of doing things, that might be hard on you. We are continuously growing and have leadership that will make tough decisions when they need to be made to keep the company on track. I have never seen our Human Resources department ever do anything that would be questionable when balancing the needs of the organization and the needs of the employees. We have done a lot of growing in the last 5 years and from what I can see, we get to keep growing for the foreseeable future which makes NAB a great place to be!

Cons

We run really fast and aren’t afraid to change course. That’s not a great fit for everyone. Most people say they love working like that, however, very few really thrive in it. If that doesn’t excite or motivate you, that’s ok, just please be honest about it and step away.

Pros

Potential for growth, project autonomy, the people, fun events I've worked at NAB for 2.5 years, and I've grown and learned SO much here. If you have a positive attitude and a passion to learn, branch out and connect with others, innovate and problem solve, etc., you can thrive in this environment. My leader respects and nurtures my need for autonomy and creative thinking; as a result, I've been able to leave my thumbprint on a lot of projects and processes. I have a great relationship with her as well as with the rest of my colleagues, which includes leaders and employees from other departments and companies. You'll hear over and over again that this place is fast-paced and changes often, and that's not a bad thing. As a result, there's a lot of energy here, and the days fly by - I'm never bored. In fact, there are a lot of fun events that take place here, including costume contests, cube decorating, online puzzles and games, guest speakers, yoga, free themed lunches, etc. I also think I'm fairly compensated. The salary and benefit offerings are far more robust than they were at my previous place of employment. As at any workplace, you get out what you put in. There are so many opportunities here to learn, connect, develop new skills, have a voice, start something new, and have fun - you just have to take advantage of them.

Cons

Sometimes, because we move so quickly, we don't spend enough time to perfect what we're working on before we move onto something new.
