Pros

They really want you to WIN! They have coaches who help you through a slump. They don't abandon you when you're having a rough time. They have courses to help you close! There's almost no way for you to fail with this company.

Cons

Same as any other insurance company - chargebacks. Gah! But they even have a department to help you with THAT!

Pros

The company will pay for your license to sell the final expense policies in 10 states. The income potential is unlimited.

Cons

They claim there is no charge for leads. However, you have to pay "rent" otherwise, you will not receive any leads. In 2019, the rent was $400. Initially, it was easy to make the monthly rent as the new people seemed to obviously get the better/easier leads. However, once you are out of the probationary period, the quality of your leads is dependent on your sales in the previous days. The average DOES include days absent or out on a vacation day. Those period of tough leads can make or break an agent. Thats when the go-getter mentality is a requirement to succeed. That is where I made my departure. Forget about work-life balance. Be prepared to work long hours!

2 weeks of forced mediocre at best training before you can start earning at a ridiculously low split with leads that you have to generate yourself dialing

Thank you for leaving a review of what you experienced while working for North Star Insurance Advisors. We appreciate your engagement, but we are very disappointed to read that you did not have a positive work experience at North Star. We require all new sales agents to complete our training class before they can start selling. During that time, agents are taught about our policies and our sales process. Our training department is continuously improving our program which has produced many fantastic agents. We do require agents to make outbound calls as a part of training to allow you to get a better handle on our script and a more rounded understanding of the intricacy of our systems. All of this was explained to you during your recruitment process and was as advertised. We wish you all the best with your future endeavors.
