Pros

I like the seasonal work, There are long days but I enjoy paving, helping make the roads safer for everyone to drive on.

Cons

Long hours and its not year round work. Not enough help to keep crews working and not overworking employees because there is a lack of employees for this profession.

Small staff of immediate coworkers, a lot of day to day freedom

Cons

Blatant favoritism, inconsistent upper management, arbitrary pay scale where experience or performance is unrelated to pay or raises. Poor planning and scheduling with last minute changes to schedule switching from days to nights sometimes multiple times per week
