People are in general very pleasant. Professors I worked with are knowledgeable and care about their students' learning.

Cons

Some confusion sometimes about pay, but generally resolved with time.

Pros

The management is generally pretty flexible. If you need to come in late, leave early, work from home, etc. they try to accommodate. If you do your job and get your work done, you will be left alone.

Cons

The management is chaotic. Hard to accomplish anything that touches more than a handful of people. Lots of things are proposed, and never followed up on.

Pros

Convenient to public transportation on both the subway and bus. Good benefits and salary.

Cons

My cons are directly related to the department I used to work in and not the institution itself. My position in the department was terminated without advance notice and I was not offered a transfer to another position on campus. Other colleges and universities in the Boston area attempt to reassign soon to be displaced staff. I believe the senior manager in my department did not follow human resource recommendations or protocol in my case.
