Pros

Generally nice people to work with, especially lower-level employees. Work-life balance equitable.

Cons

Senior managers are completely out of touch with rank and file. OGrady doesn't care about employee welfare and has gutted whatever positive culture and employee morale/engagement the prior two chairmen nurtured, turning this into a little parody of JPMorgan, with quarterly earnings for shareholders above all else. Poorly trained middle and senior managers have NO idea how to handle direct reports. Pay is below industry standard. Technology on client-facing end is woefully lacking and embarrassingly substandard. Products are too often behind the times and/or poorly conceived. They try to implement diversity programs but often fail at being as inclusive as they pretend they are. It's still an old white guy's bank!

Pros

* Very light work hours (never expected to go over 40 hours) and the environment is low stress * Starting salary was solid (80k) for the Chicago market, especially given the low number of hours expected.

Cons

* Engineering talent is non-existent. Mostly consists of people with archaic skills that have been at the company forever and contractors from Infosys, Contractors, etc. * Better off jumping ship after a year to significantly increase salary since raise and bonus were very weak, especially given how hot the tech market has been. * If you do the RDP Program, high probability that you will be placed in at least one undesirable rotation either working on legacy systems or doing work that doesn't even involve programming. * Even if you get a rotation that involves significant programming, very few difficult/interesting engineering problems. Best you can really hope for is doing fairly modern front-end development.

Pros

Intellectually challenging and professional work environment that at the same time offers an excellent work/life balance. Employees genuinely care about one another and enjoy coming into work everyday.

Cons

Salary compensation lags the competition but overall benefits/compensation package is satisfactory.
