Disappointing at best

Pros

Schedule, medical benefits, co-workers, it's a job

Cons

Management is a joke. Management has no clue of what they are doing, and are truly not needed. This is made obvious by the fact that they spend at least 4 hours of the day on break in or out of the office, in an effort to seem competent they try to micro manage everyone which just ends up looking ridiculous because it becomes very clear that they know nothing about the job nor do they care about learning it

Pros

Benefits package is decent. Hours are managable, unless you live outside of the city limits, Hello rush hour traffic. Starbucks accross the street where you can use their free internet to look for another job. Blue, GF, Neddleton and Mr. USA; all of the Lady G's.

Cons

Management, rules, the work itself; I am suprised there isn't a guard tower and barbed wire fences to keep you on task at typing into your (possibly working) 10 key. You get an hour lunch, which is far too long for the location. You are in at 8 and out at 5; perfect, because each way you are sure to hit grueling traffic to get to and from this dragging, soul-sucking job. I liked direct management. They were personable and even nice, they are just following the standards set by their bosses who probably got picked on a lot as kids so now they take it out on their subordinates. Overall, the work is mindless and they don't allow any freedom to make it a little less dulling; you can't even put a picture on your desk. Make no mistake, you will be working in a cubicle farm and scrutinized for anything you do. DO NOT SIGN THE CONTRACT AGREEMENT! Whatever you do, don't sign this thing. They use it as a tool to keep employees by fear. Here's an idea, why don't you make a work environment conducive to employee growth and you wouldn't have to trick employees in to staying a year. I dreaded every morning waking up to come to this place. The paycheck wasn't even that much of a plus because it is really not that great of pay. If you need a first job out of school, take this one, don't sign the agreement and keep looking for something else. Remind yourself that every day is one day closer to your last one there.

Pros

-They give you health insurance. This is because they want to be sure to bill the trust for your time as much as possible. -There is lots of free parking available. -You get paid twice a month and your checks don't bounce!

Cons

It might not be so bad when you start at this place. You will quickly learn that "payroll auditor" means data enterer. However, you must wear professional clothing and enter data all day... 8 hours/day. This is done without music or some sort of distraction to the mind-numbing work you are doing. You are salary, but still have to take set 15 minute breaks oh and your lunch time better be exactly one hour. Also, you must start at 8:00 AM and you cannot leave until 5:00 PM, no sooner no later. If you arrive at work at 8:05, you will get a lecture about how you must be at work by 8:00 sharp to enter data. You have an "unofficial" 3 month review. However, they don't tell you that this "unofficial" review might somehow end up with in the hands of the Trustees or people who hire the audit department. An auditor got fired for having a "needs improvement in work productivity" on his "unofficial" review, because his "unofficial" review fell in the hands of upper management. After your 3 month review you will learn that the managers don't really pay attention to any hard work you might do. You will also notice that the people who get promoted are only promoted because they have been at the company longer than a year and not many people make it past one year. So, just make sure you are friendly to your managers and you should be able to get promoted within a year. Once you get past 3 months they let you go out in the real world to audit. This is good. However, expect to have no work to do in between audits (this could be months at a time). "Management" will tell you to look busy and require you to show up from 8-5 but not have any work for you. If you are an hourly worker, (including full time) there is no grievance pay. So, if your parents/children pass away have some extra money saved up to leave to their funeral. Also, if you are an hourly worker be prepared to not be allowed to bring in drinks to work. You will be required to purchase a company water bottle (complete with logo) that you have to put your beverage in at work. Basically, the thing that will frustrate you the most, is that there is so many things that could make a boring job so much better (without incurring more expenses) but Northwest Administrators chooses not to.
