Pros

Reliable schedule, when the clock hits 5 you are out at 5 The management is kind, nobody will disrespect you Plenty of restaurant choices around

Cons

-Complacent zombies who have no aspirations for life do well here -Hard work is never noticed and there is no such thing as promotions -I clocked in for lunch 1 minute late too many times and got fired for taking 31 minute lunch breaks, but why would management change anything? Everybody gets their paychecks and goes home to cry and comes back because you are in quicksand once you come to NWA.

Pros

There are a few pros that the payroll auditing position entails. The benefit package is a definite plus. Low medical cost to employees and free dental and vision is offered. 401k match up to 6% if you are 100% vested which takes 6 years (0% vested during the first 2 years, then incremental increases thereafter). The employees that are hired for this position are very intellectual individuals. It is a certainty that you will work with a group that has a diverse set of ideas about a wide variety of topics. Everyone is very friendly and personable. A large part of the job was once to conduct field audits, which requires auditors to communicate directly with employers that conduct payroll for various businesses. This means, at times, meeting with CFO’s (of the smaller companies), HR Directors, key contacts in the payroll department, etc. This motivated management to hire highly personable individuals, as to build a rapport with employers in the field, which in turn is causality for the highly personable and intellectual individuals that you will work with in this position. However, don’t let the percentage of travel advertisement fool you (more in the cons section).

Cons

Don’t be fooled by the travel advertisement found on the careers information on the company website, which is advertised at 40 to 60%. When you first get hired, you will spend all of your time in the office for the first few months (three months minimum with no chances of travel; all your time will be spent in the office). You will not be compensated for any paid sick time during your first three months of hire (if you take a sick day during this time, you will not be compensated for that time off). The position is also advertised as receiving pay increases based on performance. This is not entirely true, as management uses subjective measures to determine increases in compensation. There is an obvious disconnect between middle management and the employees in the audit department. Employees’ concerns are of no importance to anyone in direct supervision to auditors. This place is run like a dictatorship, rather than valuing the opinions of the intellectual individuals that are hired for this position. There are a lot of rules and procedures that are expected to be followed, which are regulated in a very subjective manner by middle management. You will very seldom if at all hear any positive reinforcement by your supervisors, but count on hearing negative comments and remarks frequently. The management philosophy is of a micromanaging nature. You will be treated like a child who is expected to follow absurd rules and procedures that are ever changing subject to the personality of management. This data entry job does not allow you to wear headphones while entering data, which is inconsistent with many positions of this type. You always will be watched closely for being on your phone, surfing the internet, and chatting with fellow employees. Management is also very passive aggressive and is hesitant to face problems head on. Employee morale is very low due to managements inability to connect with employees. You will be required to pay a penalty (contract fee) if you quit this job before having been in the position for a year.

Pros

-They pay you (why is this a pro?) -You'll have insurance -If, somehow, you become a favorite and are at the company longer than 6 months, you could potentially get a trip.

Cons

-You will never receive positive feedback from anything you do. Ever. However, as stated in other reviews be prepared to get reamed with negative feedback regardless of how hard you are working. -Employees are shown absolutely no respect. They are treated as replaceable and made to feel like they have no value. -For the first six months of employment your only job will be to enter numbers into a computer. Nothing more. -They are purposely deceiving upon hire. If you speak to any current employee they tell you to run for your life, and if "Management" was upfront with the actual job description most people would be turned off. Knowing that after a week most employees would want out, they require that you sign a contract that penalizes you if you leave before a year. -Be prepared to get fired at any moment. "Management" will never give you feedback on how you are doing. Even the scheduled 6 month reviews do no happen till after a year of employment. -"Management" has a new policy that all employees hired within the audit department are considered non-promotable. Therefore, once you are hired, you have already reached the peak of your career at the company (with the rare exception of employees who are somehow able to stick with the company long enough to receive the only promotion available to you, a Senior Auditor). -You are given 7 sick days your first year. You are not allowed to use sick days for your first 3 months after hire. Also, be prepared to be ridiculed and harassed for using your sick days after this period. "Management" is under the assumption that whenever you call in sick that you are committing fraud and are not a hard worker. This leaves most employees scared to call in sick, for fear of what "Management" might do. -You will be micromanaged. Because "Management" treats all employees as if they were 3 years old, they feel like they need to watch everything you do. -There is massive favoritism throughout the office. If you are a favorite you get all the good work, if you are not you will get the worst work (data entry) and will eventually be fired. However, do not think that they pick favorites based on work performance. It is completely random. -You are given no vacation days upon hire and will not even receive UNPAID days off. This company has a backward corporate structure. They are paid regardless of productivity, thus as long as you sit in your seat the company makes money off you. -Due to many of these previous cons, employees are not able to make it here for long. Turnover is at a point where you expect to see an employee leave each week (this is not an exaggeration). Note: Management has been placed in quotes because nobody in management has gone through any formal management training and does not have the skills necessarily to manage an effective office.
