Pros

Fairly decent pay if you are in Store Management or above. Absolutely great customer service, support from DC's and Hub stores.

Cons

Unreasonable sales goals and expectations. So much is expected of the Store managers. They are required to meet sales goals set by upper management strictly based on "sales figures" and what they "think" would be a good number. Most upper management has never actually worked a single day working at the store level. You are given a set of expectations and are expected to meet them regardless of any sick calls, staff shortages, team member issues or even health issues. New hires are severely underpaid. They are given the false notion that if you sell more, you make more. Complete BS. The guy or gal at McDonald's can make more money flipping burgers. Working 4-5 hours a day you can't build any kind of clientele. You are expected to do 15 hours of work in a 10 hour day no matter what. Policies are changed at will to meet the needs of the corporate office. You can be told to "take care of the customer" and do what needs to be done. But one wrong comment to any one in upper management and that is used against you as breaking company policy. You are told the policies set in place are only "guidelines" but are held as written in stone if you violate one. You can meet most of your goals but if you fail in one area it is held against you as if you destroyed the Holy Grail. The bottom line, if you don't make "enough" money you can can fired. You can show positive growth but if its not enough to make them happy it will be used against you. I was actually told that "I would be a more successful store manager if I weren't on the customers side so much.
