Pros

- Most Store Managers are great - Learn new knowledge of various vehicles daily - Great place to network - Most managers will work around a school schedule - Getting promoted is easy, depending on who your manager is

Cons

- Commission structure is terrible. If you sell $15k in a month, you might make $80 extra for your hard work - Lots of inconsistencies involving Store Managers regarding the enforcement of company policies. At one store, anything goes might be okay, at another store you get punished for the slightest mistake. - Very high turnover rate, due to lots of work for little pay. - Corporate seems to think that having technology from 20yrs ago is a good thing and is very cheap when it comes to keeping a store up to par. Every store for example still uses a dot-matrix printer. They jam constantly and break down weekly. Most older stores could use a major overhaul, repair of various areas, or just general remodeling. However when it comes to general maintenance, good luck on getting it done. I have personally been asked to fixed the overhead lights and do plumbing in the bathrooms.

Pros

If you are lazy and want to be on your cell phone almost half your shift and. Leave an hour to half hour early before the end of your shift and you are a big kiss ass.then this is the perfect company to work for it.you can advance big time if you are willing to kiss ass or are become a district manager in a jiffy even with no experience at all (if you count one year as a part time store manager and the other half kissing ass) also helps alot if you have an relative higher up in the corporate office

Cons

A good job if you are willing to do the work with low wages unless you work in a union store the pay is a little better but the health insurance are extremely high. this company made three billions in profits after paying everything from salaries, leases taxes vendors.they claim to have a culture to customer service which is very far from the true company wise in california(except in morgan hill)

Pros

Decent employee discount, availability of parts locally is very good. The company itself has a very strong stock so you know they will be around.

Cons

I worked for Csk for 11 years prior to the buyout, and they wanted to drop my pay by 11,000 a year, The Human resource department is a joke. They expect the area managers and regional mangers to handle all of the issues that would usually go to a human resource specialist, when you skip this step and call H.R. directly you get nothing but attitude. I had employees that had work restrictions and they would not accommodate any of these. Very long working hours, managers expected to work 60-70 hours a week. They don't care about having employees with automotive knowledge they want an employee who will work for 8.00 an hour and force people to buy what they don't need.
