Pretty bad

Pros

Less busy retail operation with more limited open hours than Walmart or Target

Cons

Low pay for the work a Front End Supervisor is required to do. Pay difference from cashier to front end supervisor was 25 cents, but you need to train & supervise other cashiers as well as man the customer service desk, and be responsible for store safety and security including the front end safe. I was often the only person at the registers and had to beg for someone to cover a bathroom break, let alone my required 15 minute break. Concrete floors and no ergonomic floor mats. No leaning or sitting allowed, not even if there is a lull in foot traffic. In January, new hires were offered a new, higher base pay that was 75 cents higher than my supervisor pay. Yet I was not given a pay bump to give me the increase I earned through an earned promotion and seniority. Management focused on daily receipts and getting everything done every day with a skeleton crew. Like seriously skeleton- I frequently closed at night and was one of only 2-3 employees in the whole store. Yet we were required to clean, re-shop, and reset for the next day, with the expectation that all was completed in 30 minutes while the manager on duty completed the count for the day. Frequently, rewards for company-wide contests (who can sell the most novelty socks or similar contest) were a day set aside for a 40% discount on employee purchases. So basically, work hard and we'll give you a discount for shopping here.

Don’t work here

Pros

The only pro of working here is that the work isn’t very difficult and some of my coworkers became my friends

Cons

The job itself is a con, but to list a few specifics: rude customer base, terrible management, a sketchy company that’s impossible to contact, terrible scheduling that disregards employee availability, being reprimanded for talking (not slacking off) with coworkers, and more. Management doesn’t value employees as human beings.
