Dishonest and Difficult People to Work With

A few employees I met seemed OK.

Cons

I contracted at OhioHealth for a 3 moth project with well defined role description and timeline. An hour after I walked in the door the manager complained that I was not doing what they wanted. And what they wanted was much different than the role description. I suspect because what they wanted cost more than the communicated role. Further, the peers I worked with were combative rather than collaborative. Duplicating what I was doing all the while complaining about how busy they were.

I loved the OhioHealth atmosphere and what their values are about. Larger company with chance to transfer. Fast paced hospital setting.

Cons

Management had miscommunication Have to stay in current job for 12 months in order to transfer internally I felt some of my training did not apply to my job and I could've had more job specific training.

Pros

Stable company - CEO made $1.6 million last year. (We were sent a free pair of running shoes) Expanding footprint all across Ohio. Benefits are OK

Cons

Pay is consistently below regional and national average for physician assistants. Never able to hire enough physicians or physician assistants to properly man clinics. Always begging you to work more with no incentive. Always changing with work environment without compensation (longer shifts, new on-call system, increased manning requirements without hiring new professional staff). Poor planning and decision making always resulting professional staff to work more hours covering more clinics and to complete ridiculous steps in poorly chosen EHR .
