Pros

Flexible PTO… that’s about it.

Cons

Horrible, inexperienced middle management that plays favorites and doesn’t trust their direct reports to do their job. Internal systems are so outdated that it puts a huge strain on employees. Omada rescinded several COVID-era benefits that were widely used and loved in order to cut costs and save money as they’re trying to reach profitability. The onboarding process was promising but things just snowballed after the first month or two. Additionally, if you have hopes of promotion, the upward mobility at Omada is virtually nonexistent.

Thank you for your candid feedback. We’re proud to feature a broad employee value proposition at Omada that not only includes competitive total rewards, but extends to learning and development opportunities for all Omadans (leadership very much included), community connection to our mission, and work/life support through a remote-first culture. Additionally, we're proud of our continued track record of internal growth here at Omada with a year over year track record of more internal Omadans being promoted and/or taking on new roles as they continue to contribute to the mission. As a growing organization, we have exciting plans to continue to grow our offerings, but can also proudly say currently we index above market in many areas. Though this growth, we recognize that it’s important to build a balance between progress, culture, transparency and fun, particularly as we prioritize work/life support for Omadans through our remote-first approach. While we are proud to say that employee engagement continues to rise steadily at Omada, your feedback is important to us as we focus on areas of continued improvement.

Pros

- Smart, caring and motivated colleagues - Mission driven culture - Opportunity to do work that is changing lives - Company is well respected in the digital health space

Cons

- Constant turnover, many leaders leaving - Terrible work/life balance - Customer Success team (as with many other teams), is very stretched thin and overworked at the moment. The whole team is very stressed out, yet the leadership uses our weekly meetings to do "pop quizzes" where they cold calls people about company metrics and goals. When we end our meetings early or do not have enough agenda items to cover, there is pressure to "ask tough questions", but usually without giving the team a heads up so people can prepare thoughtful questions ahead of time. Everyone is drowning in work, so either give people time back in their day, or create a better structured team agenda. These meetings could be used more effectively where we are actually solving big problems and inefficiencies we are experiencing every day, rather than treating us like children with the pop quizzes. - Many people leaving the company - some leaders more open than others about taking the time to obtain feedback from people leaving to better understand how things can be improved

Pros

I have friends working at health tech companies from Biotech to clinics to Fitbit to Health insurance. I would say the top companies in healthcare based on growth culture management and team are 1. Bind Insurance (primarily in Minneapolis tho) 2. Omada (great management, caring, transparent, in Bay Area, culture is good, great growth) 3. Gilead 4. Fitbit 5. Forward

Cons

Cannot think of any cons

It feels great to end the year on a review like this one! We're certainly in good company in the world of health tech, and I'm glad you feel we're doing something special. I can speak for Omada leadership as a whole in saying we're absolutely committed to "keeping it up" where things are going well and resonating for the team. If you ever notice something that could be improved, please don't hesitate to let me know personally.
