      Pros

      If you HAVE to have a job, you will get a pay check here. They do offer good benefits, though.

      Cons

      Citifinancial requires their employees to constantly solicit existing customers to borrow more money. Collection calls are made from the due date, not even waiting until customers are late. Cold calling non-customers is required to initiate new loans. People having initiative are discouraged from offering new ideas. They have their way and that is it. Customers have to have credit about as good as you would need to get a regular bank loan, which would mean better interest rates for borrowers.

      Pros

      Big company so career oppurtunities are abundant. Immediate managers are helpful and genuinely try to help with your career path or explain procedure. My managers gave good recognition and/or feedback anytime I did a good job by either email or recognition during staff meetings. Work/life balance is fair. I was lucky in that my managers were easy to get along with. Usually didn't have any problem getting time off unless too many people were gone for the requested day.

      Cons

      I think starting pay could be higher although they do give fair raises if it is warranted. Citi has great benefits with 2 weeks paid vacation, medical, dental, vision, tuition reimbursement, 401k, profit sharing and much more.

      Pros

      American General Finance offers great pay with great benefits and training. American General Finance offers tuition reimbursement, good vacation time, and great insurance benefits at a discounted price for employees and their families.

      Cons

      Management is self-serving, oftentimes backstabbing, and plays favorites. You might perform well but still have a hard time moving up in the company if your branch or district manager doesn't like you. This company is also just a loan factory. This company is only concerned with making money and doesn't take care of its employees or customers. They offer products and services but with the express purpose of making money.
