Pros

Great coworkers, a lot of tickets to work on, no required overtime and no after hours work, no on call work

Cons

We have experienced multiple rounds of layoffs, no raises/promotions, return to office requirements that remote workers do not have to deal with, ending of catered lunches which were the only silver lining to having to go back into the office, very high medical premiums ($200 a month for individuals), and ending of the small 401k matching. It is the last quarter of the year and no one has said anything about bringing any of this back or improving anything. Many people have left the company for better pay and benefits, employee survey results are at 0. Pay is very low compared to other companies. The CEO has mentioned the very low retention rate but hasn't done anything.

Toxic work environment. The CTO creates a workplace of controversy and harassment to anyone who does not conform to his style.

What you describe is the polar opposite of the culture we're trying to cultivate. I can assure you when your review came in, it got people's attention. We're not used to getting reviews like this, and our Leadership takes these types of concerns very seriously. We make every effort to create a safe environment for our employees to do their best work and have zero tolerance towards any type of Harassment in our organization. Our goal is for Onit to foster an environment where strong leaders and contributors can excel. Our new CTO has focused on developing a work environment of collaboration while focusing on success of the employee, customers, and company. Over the last year, we have invested in training our product and development in Scrum practices to foster a work culture of empowered and cooperative teams while creating communication and visibility cross-departmentally in the organization.

Pros

Strong technology and product, definitely plenty of backing and great engineering.

Cons

Zero culture, and they don’t care. Racism is alive and well here. They do not care about DEI one bit, and in fact discourage it. It’s a shame that the product isn’t taking off because leadership has zero leadership qualities and treats their sales org (aka revenue team) like warm bodies. They’re going more and more old school- forcing in office attendance for zero reason, while working remotely themselves and flying all over. Their pay is far below industry standard, too, and don’t expect the promotion they promise you during hiring. It won’t happen.
