Pros
I have worked at Onward Search for over a decade and am proud to be part of an organization that listens to its employees and uses that feedback to continually improve our company. Team members are encouraged to have an entrepreneurial mindset and ideas for growth and career advancement are always welcomed by management. We have an excellent benefits package, including health, dental, vision, 401k and many employee perks. Our company has made an organizational investment around DE&I to ensure a great working environment. We have an employee-led committee focused on educating our teams, celebrating all beliefs, opening conversations and recognizing causes that connect to our people. We also have an internal spirit team who organize employee lunches, happy hours, trivia and other games, charitable initiatives and employee recognition (in-person and now virtual).
Cons
It frustrates me to see all of the quick-witted negative comments that people leave after parting with our company. No one ever wants to take the time to leave a review when things are good, but are always looking for an outlet to vent when things did not go their way. Recruiting is a tough business, but we have one of the most tenured teams in the industry. I have worked here for over a decade and have seen employees start as recruiters or sales staff and work their way up to Managing Directors and VPs. The career path is there if you put in the effort. Five years ago, I may have stated in this section that we don’t get enough days off or have a flexible work policy. But the company listened to our concerns and enhanced our PTO policy to include more days off, flex holidays and work from home programs (pre-pandemic). They also extended maternity / paternity leave for employees.
