Company going like CA

Pros

Beautifull brand name. Worlwide presence and large footprint. The global presence is a true advantage when you are in the sales side of the organisation. With the global size of the company (revenue, people, location,..) customers are much more likely to be engage.

Cons

The only real revenue growth is made thru acquisition. This is ok unless company is working hard on engaging really on merging teams. In reality, this is like CA. The company is merging the revenue but not the people.

Pros

OpenText is filled with genuinely great people who are a joy to work with, and the individual benefits of working for the company are solid. It is a growing company with strong stock performance and is well positioned to continue that growth at least in the short term.

Cons

OpenText has been going through a shift in the last two years, a shift that has seen many long-time employees leave the company. The new culture is focused on the top, with decision-making and investment very much focused on the whims of a few executives. In the trenches, investment has been on a steady decline despite record revenues and people are struggling to get their jobs done as everyone is asked to do more with less.

Brand is gaining visibility but offers don't progress

Pros

Wide scope of products addressing information management needs. SAP channel brings awareness. Good financial health.

Cons

OpenText priority is to acquire (expensive) new companies and no longer to improve acquired products. Integration of the various acquired products under a same umbrella stopped years ago. The EIM message is well broadcasted outside, but inside, it's a different story : products are distributed between different business units, who do not cooperate and sometimes compete against each other ; solutions adopted for internal purpose don't even leverage the content management solutions of the company (CRM, expenses management, marketing assets management...).
