      Decent, but flawed

      Pros

      If you get in the right team within the better performing practices, life can be good. Autonomy is high. There is some flexibility in work-life balance, if you're careful. It's a good place to build your resume for awhile.

      Cons

      Consultants are isolated and alienated from "corporate." And "corporate" is a good way to describe the culture post merger. Pre-merger, the culture was more fun, scrappy, and "get it done" than it is now. Consultant bonuses are big carrots, but they can easily suck you in and erode work-life balance. Training, bench time, and time promoting yourself (like conference talks) all count against your bonus, which is a big shame. Consultants are actually invented to stagnate. HR seems to change processes and policies weekly. Then, when you're not expecting it, they'll do things like reneg on the PTO buyout, or push annual pay raises out an entire quarter. If you're actually in a consulting practice, your competitors will view your team as "just a VAR" since most revenue comes from pushing security products.

      Pros

      *IF* the marketing was true - this would be a great place. Awesome industry full of challenges, growing market and partners want to work with us.

      Cons

      Truly a horrible environment where there is no moral compass. Even those who try to rise above the drama and do the right thing are slaughtered. Just as in Game of Thrones - you never know how or when your going to die, but it will absolutely be a gruesome death. Culture is Kill or be Killed. By definition a Cyber Security company should possess some ethics and there is none.

      Still good, but getting worse

      Pros

      Good managers, smart people and a self management style while working remote. 401k matching is finally in place, and a half decent compensation plan.

      Cons

      Benefits are getting worse, especially after the merger. There is no longer a mobile phone discount. They used to pay remote consultants a monthly mobile and internet stipend- they literally cut that amount in half and now call it a "telecom stipend". They claim to have a "per diem" policy, but that is untrue 99% of the time. Many of the advertised benefits on this site are no longer active, or are almost impossible to get.
