Pros

Origami does a great job of hiring some of the nicest and smartest people I have ever had the chance to work with, and the culture of Origami really feels like everyone is invested in everyone else's success.

Cons

Origami sometimes tries to function like a lean start up when we are now way past that stage. Decisions are made by leadership with little thought into how we are going to execute those changes from an operational perspective. I find myself scrambling to accommodate for major changes to our systems to ensure that we are aligned with the business, and half of the time, those decisions are backtracked anyways.

Pros

In my 6 months with Origami I have been very impressed with the culture, especially with how it is espoused by senior leadership, starting with the CEO. Origami extends transparency, trust and respect to its employees through monthly town halls in which employees are free to ask the CEO unvetted questions, a (pre-pandemic) hybrid work model, and recent change to a flexible/unlimited PTO plan in most locations. I found compensation and benefits to be competitive, with a few surprising perks. Work-life balance is encouraged, as leadership understands building a best in class business is a marathon, not a sprint. Annual colleague surveys generate feedback that is listened to and acted upon. Jerkish behavior is not tolerated and fun is encouraged. I love coming into the office and participating in the many optional social events (happy hours, book club, volunteering, etc).

Cons

Growing pains: Origami has grown (and is growing) exponentially, which is very exciting, but there are some areas where the tools, systems, and processes in place need to be scaled up. Leadership is aware of these needs and is working to improve them.
