Pros

What once was a wonderful company has had a complete 180 with multiple leadership and process changes. In earlier years, there was a lot of collaboration, helpfulness, and resources for teams.

Cons

Felt there was a lot of favoritism, with rules, processes, and procedures being selectively enforced for some and not for others. No More Colleague Conferences, cost-cutting. No learning department. Many hours and weekends, and unobtainable goals that felt like the goal posts kept on moving. Felt more and more like a Day 2 Company. Toxicity and no recognition, with a lot of blaming and turn-over in recent years.

Pros

Unlimited pto, snacks and drinks in offices. An assortment of talented colleagues who always come up with creative solutions. Product is solid and more flexible than our competitors.

Cons

Extreme lack of communication between departments, and communication from upper management to lower management and associates. Culture has evaporated, annual in person team meetings and the annual in person colleague conference have been canceled, with very little explanation. The explanation provided seemed a little fishy. This is all leading to speculation about a potential sale. Hiring has been limited in Service which is leading to a lot of burnt out colleagues with no relief in sight.

Remote work and flexibility overshadowed by declining morale

Pros

- Remote work - Unlimited PTO - Flexible schedules - Knowledgable colleagues - Great learning opportunity

Cons

Colleague morale was very high when I started at Origami. Colleagues were motivated to collaborate together, and clients were happier. As we’ve grown, I’ve seen colleague morale and client satisfaction take a sharp nosedive due to increased expectations and increased workloads. The company seems to be solely focused on growth and has forgotten about client and colleague satisfaction. We have been through many organizational changes that have been difficult, vague, and constantly evolving. We are understaffed in many departments and will not be hiring for relief until we prove the value of the newer roles, which is impossible when we’re all doing two jobs at once and are still being asked to do more and more outside of our job descriptions. Colleagues are getting burned out, and clients are getting frustrated. Communication about the organizational changes has been horrible both internally and externally. I wish Origami would revert back to the way it was years ago.
