Pros

There is nothing good about this company. If considering employment at Otsuka, re-consider. It would be better to remain where you are, even if unemployed. Worst place I've ever been and I have been in pharma for over twelve years at three other companies.

Cons

Leadership lacks integrity. Leadership is incompetent and dishonest. The company prefers to work with smoke and mirrors. They have lied to regulatory authorities, as well as business partners and employees. Regarding employee recruitment, the lines that they give you are somewhat enticing, but are far from the truth. Some may call this a "bait and switch", but in legal terms, it may be considered fraud/fraud in the inducement.

Pros

On the surface, Otsuka seems like a unique place to work. A Japanese company with a unique culture, it advertises itself to prospects as small enough to make a difference, "not big pharma," bright future. The pay is certainly reasonable.

Cons

In reality, the company is terrible to work out. No pharmas today have particularly good work-life balances but Otsuka's is by far the worst. Consider this carefully before joining them. In addition, there is a constant turnover of employees and leadership and the company has lost sight of its bright future. Expect long hours, little appreciation and eventually, being spit out.

Management prides themselves on the idea that nothing you do is ever enough, they reward your hard work with more work but no extra pay, goals are steep and rankings don’t take into account whether the medication is on state Medicaid formulary or no. Constant turnover.
