Pros

- Actual commitment to a positive culture, including diversity, equity, and inclusion. During the interview process I thought Ovia sounded almost too good to be true, but folks here genuinely like working together and believe in being authentic in the workplace. LGBTQIA+ friendly - lots of folks are out at work. - Flexible schedule - OK to leave for a doctor's appointment or kid pickup; unlimited PTO, teams adjust workload to account for upcoming time off. - Good work/life balance, at least at the lower levels - never expected to work or respond outside of regular work hours. - Seems to be a lot of promotion from within, so possible career advancement. - Very good support/mentorship for newer engineers. - Quarterly company-wide mental health days, monthly "Innovation Days" to work on fun projects and prevent burnout - Clearly delineated roles and very competent management

Cons

- Recently acquired by Labcorp. While overall I think this is in the "pro" category in terms of growth and resources, there will inevitably be less-fun changes. So far those changes have been largely administrative inconveniences (changing all benefits, corporate trainings, etc.), but I do think there will also be an impact on the culture Ovia has fostered. That said, I trust leadership to keep the impact as limited as possible. - The products could use some updates for inclusivity. Ovia IS working on this, but it's a process and they are understandably focused on their existing customer base which is overwhelmingly white cisgender women. - Pay is currently based on a national average, at least for engineering - so it's solid, but you can definitely find better salaries out there. I do wonder if this will change now that Ovia is under the umbrella of Labcorp.

Pros

Ovia offers a positive work environment with a workforce focused on Ovia's important women's health mission. Friendly people, minimal politics, flexible hours, and a performance-driven culture.

Cons

Ovia is a start-up so employees must be flexible and ready for diverse challenges. However, Ovia does not have a crazy 'work all hours at all costs' culture, and it is well organized so it does not have the chaos of some startup environments.

Pros

Great company with a lot of talent Flexible work-life balance Great product and very highly engaged audience Remote work environment Support from upper management/all teams

Cons

If you are solely about maximizing comp then Ovia may not be for you, but the comp is fair and flexible work schedule is amazing.
