Pros

Solid financials, has been profitable for a long time, stable employment.

Cons

Non-competitive salaries, management is useless, not flexible on scheduling, benefits are nothing special, little to no perks, very negative environment most of the time, everyone always acts as though they are about to lose their job if they don't impress. Culture is suffocating. Work/Life balance is ok...but you are often indirectly suggested to put in more than 40 hours a week. Paccar (Kenworth) runs very lean, so expect to have a very heavy workload. Paccar has done things a certain way for a long time, and they don't want to change and adapt to more modern styles of management and culture. So get ready to drink the Paccar kool aid if you want to fit in. Oh, and don't forget, facial hair isn't allowed.

Pros

Decent benefits, good focus on training and personal growth. Reasonable work-life balance. Interesting products to work on.

Cons

Compensation is only 'okay', and low for the area. Vacation and sick leave are extremely minimal. Very conservative at a corporate level. Middle management will do anything to look good when 'the chairman' comes to visit. Recent verbal-only policy change required everyone to shave beards and goatees at the whim of 'corporate policy'. Software used by engineering and production is embarrassingly ancient and inefficient.

Pros

Good location? Thats about it.

Cons

Salary is not competitive at all considering Seattle is one of the top 10 expensive cities in US, No employee development -they do have a form to fill out for employee development needs but no follow up, no consideration at all, no external training, Very poor top to bottom communication- you will be working on a project but management had already decided to drop the project and u had no clue for weeks or even months!, The first thing management does is lie to their employees about the state of bussiness when things are slow, The second step they take is move your attention to the future and show brighter prospects in the coming years and assure employees that they will not cut down on the work force AND the next week you come to learn that 10% of manufacturing workforce was cut down along with a handful of engineers in the design dept. All in all a very poor management style all the way to the top.
