Pros

Reasonable salaries and benefits, stable, good retirement benefits. Work can be interesting and sometimes challenging. Long time employees are treated well.

Cons

Chronic under staffing, leads to rushed projects and unreasonable time-lines. No technical advancement path, that is probably why there seem to be way too many middle managers. Upper management surrounded by yes men, leads to poor decisions on complex issues. Not a technology leader.

Pros

Real work, solid pay, opportunities for work in functional areas outside your position, comprehensive training, great internship program. I really had a 10/10 experience working at PACCAR, and would strongly suggest college students and recent graduates to give them a shot. You will never feel lost, yet, the challenging work will really set you up for success down the road. The internship programs and presentations also give you surprisingly good visibility to the higher ups (VP and GM level).

Cons

Somewhat stuffy corporate atmosphere; employee computers are ancient (we're talking 6 or more years old and still running Office '03)

Pros

Job Security, they won't fire you unless you do something that would get you arrested anyway. Free Parking, one of the few perks.

Cons

No opportunity for growth. Little on the job training. Management doesn't really care about changing the corporate culture. Mid Level Management are Yes men. Compensation is at the lower end of the spectrum. Few young people because Paccar doesn't hire many and most are able to leave the company. Poor equipment, the majority of computers are over 5 years old. Many CRT monitors are still in use. Employees have to take matters into there own hands or pocket books.
