Pros

Dental benefits are good, patients were cool and most of my coworkers were great. I can't think of anything else.

Cons

PDS: Where dentistry meets used-car sales is the best way to describe the BC/OM position. You'll be conflicted with how you convinced somebody, who walked in on the $39 deal, to open a new line of credit for a 'mostly' cosmetic dental procedure. It's not patient care; it's all about the bottomline. Read the other negative reviews because they're the only legitimate ones.

Pros

They paid me well and had a decent dental plan, I wish I could give less than 1 star but here we are.

Cons

You need to ask very specific questions regarding things you wouldn't think you would need to such as; which location you're going to work at, what to wear (big surprise, they provide you with a company shirt but don't tell you that until you have spent $$$ on a new work wardrobe). Their training program seems to be laid out very well but really it's all over the place. I want to rant more but I'm done - my advice is to BEWARE, and make sure you are doing this for the career and not the money! Oh and the work/life balance is basically non-existent, I'm talking working from 9am-10pm and expected to be back at 7am.

Internal Promotions Create a Winning Culture

Pros

The majority of the management team in the Arizona/Nevada region has been promoted from within. Considering every company I've ever worked for says that they do this but often don't put it into action, This is an enormous strength for PDS as many of our team members have been with the company for years and because they know they have opportunity for growth, they are more likely to stay which promotes a winning culture. In addition, if someone is not a good fit, management is quick and decisive in action. This is in line with the culture, although some may view this as a con. Successful team members are humble and hungry.

Cons

The medical plan has high premiums and a high deductible. You don't get to take advantage of your benefits unless you have a major medical event (giving birth, surgery, etc.) because you won't meet the deductible with routine visits and prescriptions alone. This seems counterintuitive in working for a healthcare company. This is an area where feedback is consistently given and yet National Support (NSC) seems to always place ownership on changing healthcare laws. Sometimes there is a lack of understanding between the field and NSC. Departments that are there to support the offices should understand how a miss on their end truly impacts profitability at the office level.

Thank you for your review. Your honest feedback helps us ensure authenticity and transparency within the company. We agree that recognizing and ensuring culture/employee fit is crucial to both the success of that team member and the company as a whole. We also feel that by promoting from within, we create a winning culture that motivates each employee to maximize their God-given potential and thoroughly understand the company values. We intend to focus on expanding our business support services to more great dentists and will definitely pass along your advice about NSC employees shadowing supported offices to our leadership team. Thank you!
