Pros

You can stick around for a few years to get industry experience and quit. After two years, you can briefly enjoy the fact that you have seniority over 60% of people in technology. Then, like all of your peers that left, go to a company that appreciates you, your time, and your future.

Cons

Obviously there are a few outliers, but if you haven't been fired after 3-4 years it's because you are cheap for your skill set. Lean? Teams are perpetually understaffed. If you are a hermit this may be a pro for you, but if you have a family or a personal life good luck managing the work/life balance.

Pros

n/a. I wish I could give negative stars

Cons

A lot of negative energy at the firm for many reasons. Poor communication, finger pointing, and lack of respect by the management all contributed to a very hostile and condescending work environment. In fact, there has been a mass exodus of talented people in the last few years. This is evident when you take a look around the team. You can most likely count the number of technology employees that have worked there over 5 years on one hand. For all the college graduates, please take that as a huge red flag. The title above says "Dont blame the people, Blame the process. Fix the process." I say this now because I felt compelled to write this review after noticing a slew of "good" reviews the last couple of weeks. Current employees were encouraged/forced to write good reviews to bring the score up. If PEAK6 just fixed the process, these good reviews would come naturually. I hope they figure it out for the few good people remaining there.

Thank you for taking the time to post. You sound miserable at PEAK6 so I am sorry to hear that you are having such a bad experience here. We’re investing a lot of time and effort into building a great culture. We want to make every employee's experience here a positive one. Which is why we have been encouraging employees to share feedback on Glassdoor – both good and bad. It was a proactive step that we felt would enable us to get more feedback from current employees around their experience. If you feel like you aren’t in the best position to do your best work at PEAK6, we understand if you would like to make a move. Part of building a great culture is having open discussions on whether each employee is in a role and a culture that’s the best fit for their strengths. We hope that is the case with each person we hire at PEAK6, but if it’s not we’d rather learn from your experience and support you in making a move to an environment where you can be happier. If you have any other feedback on your experience or how to improve the process please reach out. Thanks Brad

Pros

If you like the illusion of working for a "cutting edge" trading firm that provides you all the trappings of a modern day boiler room operation then you have arrived at the right place.

Cons

Cutthroat culture masked by a teamwork edit sent down from the husband and wife owners. Let me very clear, this will never be about anything more than enriching the owners. You are a hired hand that have been given just enough rope to hang yourself. You will not sleep on Sunday nights ever again. In fact you may never rest well as long as you are working there.
