Where to begin. . . PEAK6 is run by a group of juvenile, puerile egomaniacs. Success in this environment is solely determined by your ability to compromise your core beliefs and supplicate to the chosen few. Senior managers are selected for loyalty and their ability to exploit the ever present stream of newbie, wannabe rich optionaires (both tech and traders). Think San Francisco gold rush - all those prospectors showing up to strike it rich and guess who is really making the dough - whoever controls the saloons and the brothels. Fine - you've got the offer - go, you'll learn a lot, about option trading, sure, but more than that you'll learn about how people behave when there's a big pot of money in the middle of the room. It's not pretty, especially when the pot turns out to be not quite as full as everyone thought. Don't be surprised when the music stops and someone else is sitting in your chair.

Return to work initiative was very poorly rolled out. Owners made it completely non-negotiable, but there weren't enough seats for everyone (constant workstation poaching even after reserving your spot) and the office was constantly freezing (like people wearing mittens and blankets freezing). They also do not offer merit raises each year, and you have to campaign hard for even a 2% every few years.
