Pros

Everyone in technology has been a joy to work with. The people are smart, collaborative, and helpful. You have a lot of opportunities to expand your skill set and grow. The projects have been very fulfilling and challenging overall. I also notice an effort amongst the senior management to get feedback on how they can improve the workplace which is awesome. Everyone is passionate about what they're working on. You occasionally see a good part of the tech team grinding on their projects late into the evening and this is where all the team bonding and fun shenanigans/jokes happen.

Cons

Occasionally we're grinding on our projects late into the evening. Advancement (the path to raises, promotions) isn't straightforward

Pros

Peak6 has a culture of exploration and inspiration. The owners take the time to explain how they became successful and how you can do it too. They give every employee opportunities to grow and encourage people to think outside the box. I particularly appreciated the Speaker Series that was rolled out in 2015. So far Andy Stefanovich and Steven Levitt & Dubner came to do firm wide engagements. That kind of enrichment fuels my drive and has helped me tap into my true potential. I have really appreciated the flexibility that has been extending to me in regards to my work/life balance. I have a little one at home so I only work part time and my manager has been great about letting me adjust my schedule based on my childcare needs. The company also has nice little perks too. A fully stocked kitchen, breakfasts on most Fridays, and lunch once a month. Poker and Corn Hole tournaments. Oh and unbelievably cool annual party with musical guests like Maroon 5, Flo Rida, and Keith Urban.

Cons

Although Peak6 gives us opportunities to get to know people that work on other teams, it is really hard to get to know everyone. I have been here for 4 years (part time) and I wish I knew everyone’s names but I don’t.
