Pros

Benefits and bonuses are great

Cons

The stress alone caused me to go to the hospital. Poor communication skills between management and these "growing pains" in the company are like full blown migraines. never worked for a more disrespectful company.

Terrible "Leadership"

Pros

Hard working people at the middle and lower levels

Cons

The upper levels are totally out of touch. They talk a good game but in reality, only care about themselves. They do not listen or care what people have to say. All decisions - no matter how small - are made at the top and are not what the credit union needs. The CEO will make trips to the sites outside of the HQ and make alot of noise about issues that don't really exist because he is not really in tune with people. The "E Team" is a complete joke.

Terrible place to work

Pros

Because they're so big, they have the capability to pay higher than most credit unions. Usually, though, they start you at the bottom of the pay scale.

Cons

PenFed is not a great place to work. Employees do not communicate with each other, or with the business unit. They want to push projects out quickly, but all the red tape means things happen VERY slowly, even maintenance. They want to grow for the sake of growth, but that growth comes at the cost of the employees. When they acquire another credit union, they're mission is just to absorb the assets and membership count. They have no interest in the employees, or for that matter, don't care what happens to them. PenFed has shady business practices. It is a VERY high stress environment to work in.
