Pros

PHMG is a great environment for anyone starting or growing a sales career. The SDR training program is genuinely strong: managers walk you through the process step by step, and there’s a lot of hands-on coaching to help you feel confident on the phones. The team culture is upbeat, competitive in a healthy way, and very supportive; everyone wants you to win. You get clear goals, a solid structure, and plenty of opportunities to improve your pitch and sales technique. The commission potential is very real if you put in the effort, and top performers are recognized regularly. There's lots of great incentives as well, like Cubs, Bears, and Blackhawks tickets. There’s also a clear path from SDR to more senior sales roles, which makes it a a great place to grow.

Cons

It’s high-paced and target-driven, which can feel intense at times. It is definitely a role for someone motivated and resilient. Call volumes can be high, but that comes with the nature of SDR work.

Hi there, Thanks so much for the great review — really glad to hear you’re enjoying the SDR role in Chicago. It’s awesome to know the training and hands-on coaching are making a real difference, and that the team culture feels upbeat and supportive. Also love that you called out the commission potential and incentives (the sports tickets are definitely a favourite!). And you’re right - it’s a fast-paced job and it won’t be for everyone, so we appreciate you being honest about that too. Thanks again for taking the time to share this, and for everything you’re contributing to the team. PHMG People Team

Thank you for leaving a review. We’re pleased you found the role a good place to learn and gain experience. Your feedback is very brief, which makes it difficult for us to respond in detail - particularly regarding your comments on the product. We believe strongly in the value we deliver to clients, but if you’re willing to share more specific feedback, we’d genuinely welcome it so it can be reviewed properly. Wishing you all the best.

Pros

great colleagues who work hard despite constant pressure.

Cons

The account management role has become overwhelmingly demanding without fair compensation. A huge portion of daily communication often more than half relates to issues that belong to other departments, yet account managers are expected to answer for problems we have no control over. This creates ongoing frustration for both staff and clients. Senior management consistently avoids taking accountability for systemic issues. Decisions are made without considering operational impact, and when those decisions inevitably create problems, responsibility is shifted downward. Any opportunity to earn additional income or bonuses has essentially been removed, even though expectations remain high. Meanwhile, extra services are promised to clients at the point of sale that the teams cannot reliably deliver, leaving account managers unable to uphold commitments made on the company’s behalf. Quality issues in production and copy have become increasingly common. In many cases, AI tools produce more accurate, consistent work than internal teams, leading to additional corrections and rework. This adds to the workload without any added reward. Overall, the role has devolved into more work for less recognition, less support, and zero growth or earning potential. The structure makes it nearly impossible to do the job well, no matter how hard you try.

Hi there, Thanks for taking the time to write such a detailed review. We’re glad you mentioned the strength of your colleagues. It’s clear you felt the workload had become too heavy and that expectations weren’t lining up with reward or support. We understand how frustrating it can be when you’re handling issues outside your control or trying to deliver on commitments that feel difficult to uphold. That’s not how the role should feel day to day. We won’t go back and forth on specifics here, but the points you’ve raised around workload, earning opportunity and quality are important and will be shared internally. If you’re open to it, we’d genuinely welcome a confidential conversation with the People Team to better understand your experience.
