Pros

The work itself is great and helping the clients is rewarding.

Cons

The managers I have met don't care about their employee's. You will never hear "good job," "thanks for working on your day off." "Nice job dealing with that irate client," Nothing. It's like being in high school where the bully is in charge and rules through intimidation and lies. The pay is horrible, and they will keep you on as a "seasonal" worker so they don't have to give raises, pay holiday pay, or benefits. They will imply that if you don't speed, as a driver, that you won't keep your job. They work you 14 hours a day in summer and then you are lucky to get 20 hours a week in winter. They will also expect you to work over 14 hours a day to finish your route even though it's illegal. The training is awful, two weeks if you're lucky, to operate a machine that has no breaks, is poorly maintained, and can be incredibly dangerous. Oh, and if you break anything....another reason for no pay raise and more intimidation. Everyone I have worked with was miserable and looking for work. No team atmosphere, just beaten down folks.

Pros

Promotes within company Decent pay rate for customer service Excellent pay for Sales (w/ incentives) Most supervisors are pleasant and friendly Positions open every so often, and it's not tough to move up Frequently has contests, Free food, appreciation days etc

Cons

OMG where do I start?? Quality control is horrendous and is over the top. Screw up on one call and watch your average drop to the floor! Like every call center, there are handle-time requirements... but never have I worked for a center that had a MINIMUM handle-time. Got a bad monthly review? No problem, here's your verbal. Do it again? Written. Writtens are extremely difficult to weed off, you need to have 3 months of nearly perfect averages to get off of a written. Working at PODS you will have to walk on egg-shells all day long. For me, this is extremely stressful. I've worked at this company for less than 2 years and I kid you not, I've seen more than 150 people hired and then fired shortly after. Most temporary agents are put there for the "seasonal" purposes... and then walked out the door after the season is over.
