Great Company, Bad Pay

Pros

POWER is a great great company. Overall its a great place to start your career, learn and grow as an engineer or designer. There's a lot of great people and the culture is very supportive of personal and professional growth. There is a real understanding and support for people with families that need flexibility. Likewise, the culture is genuinely supportive of good work life balance and treating employees like people. Overall the management is good, with lots of hard working and caring department managers. The benefits package meets or exceeds industry standards at every level.

Cons

They do not compensate employees for their work. The pay is below industry average and the typical response from upper management when approached about this issue is that there needs to be an emphasis on culture. While I certainly agree the culture at POWER is great, unfortunately culture does not pay my mortgage or send my kids to college. Despite claiming to have done extensive industry research, the company has failed to keep up with market value for engineers, falling at least 20-30% below most other companies. Personally, I have seen competitors offering 60-70% more. Which is why I ultimately decided to leave.
