RTO has killed the culture

Pros

None now (used to be great)

Cons

Upper management (many of whom are remote) is killing the culture requiring RTO. It's negatively affecting people's mental health and just less productivity overall. Many people were hired to be remote, there was zero talk of having to come back to the office, and the company even promoted remote work. Our numbers have never been better! Now, they have gone back on their word. It's so expensive to live in SoCal and this is like taking a huge pay cut when everything is the most expensive it's ever been, never mind the amount of time people are losing with their families commuting. I wouldn't recommend Pacific Life to anyone until this policy is lifted. The culture is so bad right now and everyone is so burned out.

Pros

-Most regular employees are good people who really care about the company -A few entry level positions, like sales, might be worth a shot. And the traditional insurance roles are still respected.

Cons

-As mentioned in previous posts, the new executive leadership has completely changed the culture. They seem to despise the employees and are only interested in controlling the company from the C-Suite. -Growth at all cost with no actual planning, resources, or accountability from leadership. Most employees are burnt out, bottomed out on morale, or looking for another job.

Pros

Decent pay Pretty good benefits and associated programs

Cons

Incompetent leadership, lack of concern for the “lowly ones” in new business, ridiculous expectations regarding productivity from management that has NO CLUE what we do for a days work. The top leaders live in the clouds and the lower level leaders are idiots (not all, most - new business specifically). Upper management hosts meetings to pretend to care about how we feel but in reality they couldn’t care less. We’re just bodies to them and they’re already outsourcing 60-80% of our work to India so bottoms up I guess! Also - they infiltrated a small community under the guise that they would give back to the community and create more jobs and received thousands and thousands of dollars in grant money for bringing business to the area and turned around and laid off almost every employee from the Lynchburg area. Pacific Life pretends to be a good company but they’re just as cut throat as any other place out there.
