Pros

Flexible, depending on your manager if they like you/not. Encourage continuous learning, but if your not going to marry panda, they will coach you out. They focus a lot on their "panda culture," if you don't find, they will coach you out.

Cons

Panda doesn't want to pay for your EDD, so they don't fire you. Instead they will either coach you out or make your life miserable so you can quit. Their focus on the employees went from task related to mental mind. They want to change you mentally.

Pros

Employees receive a free meal during their break, which is only ten minutes. For full-time employees, medical and dental benefits are available. Employees have the ability to create a fun atmosphere while working with one another. Fast-paced environment, which allows shifts to move along quickly.

Cons

The starting pay is slightly above minimum wage, however, it is low compared to the amount of work that is placed upon each associate. Managers expect every inch of their store to be spotless and flawless. Be prepared to be yelled at in front of customers if your station isn't clean during rush hour. Many customer complaints are read by management, but solutions are never taken into action. For instance, most complaints focused on how slow our drive-thru was. Our manager did little to nothing to help speed up the process. Instead, he maintained the same system by letting one person: greet and take orders, complete transactions, double-check each order, package orders, ask customers if they needed anything else, and call for food if necessary. These tasks could easily be split up between three employees to create a smooth flow of service for customers. There is favoritism within the workplace where certain employees would receive more hours than others despite having the same availability, and lack of discipline for those who are continuously late. As a former employee who was with the Panda Express for two years, I can honestly say that I would definitely not recommend this company. If you want to move up, be prepared to kiss everyone's behind and let Panda consume your life because that is what it will take.
