Pros

Worked remote but was not worth it for what I went though.

Cons

My time at Paylocity was marked by some concerning challenges, particularly in the areas of training and consistency. The training process, in particular, was disappointing and left much to be desired. With minimal training provided, it felt like there was a lack of investment in adequately preparing new hires like myself for our roles. The disorganized training sessions only added to the frustration, making it difficult to fully grasp essential concepts and strategies. One significant consequence of these training shortcomings was the high churn rate among sales directors. This constant turnover not only reflected a lack of stability within the company but also had a direct impact on the consistency of our sales efforts. With a revolving door of sales directors, each bringing their own methods and understanding of the company’s services, it became challenging to establish trust and build lasting relationships with clients. Addressing these issues is critical for the overall success of Paylocity. Investing in a more comprehensive and organized training program would undoubtedly result in more confident and effective employees. Additionally, tackling the high turnover rate among sales directors would go a long way in establishing a more stable and consistent approach to client interactions. In conclusion, my time at Paylocity was marred by inadequate training and a concerning turnover rate among sales directors. By prioritizing a more robust training program and working to retain experienced sales directors, Paylocity has the opportunity to create a more positive and stable work environment.

Pros

- Benefits are great - Stock price remains high - The people you work with are some of the best people I've been able to work with

Cons

- Despite what Paylocity touts, the number of women in management within the Tech org is VERY small -- and they had a huge number of women leaders leave in 2022. If this is important to you, I'd ask for % of women who are in leadership positions in P&T. - Promoting as an EM is vague and not defined - Leadership is happy to de-promote leaders if they bring up pay disparity issues

Pros

-There are some great individuals at Paylocity who truly do care

Cons

-They want to scale. Great! You can’t scale if you’re not coming together as a cohesive front. The tech team has legacy individuals who are stuck in thinking Paylocity is still a 500 person company and new leadership who tries to shove their ideas down the legacy group’s throats. Instead of working together, they just bicker and nothing gets done. -There are pockets of very rude individuals here that would not be tolerated at many organizations -There is a lot of ‘fluff’ coming from HR. Sit and listen to any of the leadership calls and you can figure out pretty quickly it is not genuine. -Communication is either not funneled down (despite leaders saying it is) or the people below the top couple levels choose to not actually communicate; that results in a great deal of chaos and confusion

We appreciate your thoughts and feedback! In the spirit of growth fuels opportunity, we are very fortunate to be growing so quickly. We are working to best support our employees and clients throughout this fast-paced environment as we scale. We have also been revamping our internal communication strategy to ensure important information is provided to all employees including leaders in a timely manner and cascaded accordingly. Employee feedback is always encouraged so that we can address areas of opportunity, our recent launch of our monthly feedback survey is used as a tool to help grow and improve on how we can support one another. HR Business Partners are also a great resource to leverage should employees need escalated support at any time.
