Hearing your thoughts regarding our company is helpful advice for our leadership team. I'll be sure to pass on the compliment to our front desk team, and also the feedback regarding favoritism to our Home Care Nursing division. Regarding pay, although we acknowledge that a union environment generally pays more for nurses, we feel that our base pay along with our You Stay We Pay bonus helps with the difference. We do understand, however, that this affects retention and sometimes more is needed. We are currently considering ideas on how to help bridge this gap and reduce turnover. Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. If at any time you'd like to share more, please contact me. Fairly new to the organization

Pros

The support offered for field nurses is excellent and eased my anxiety over providing care to medically fragile children in their homes. I felt orientation training was designed effectively to support my success in practice. It was also good to have a week in the office to see operations and to meet the people who make it all possible. Without the scheduling coordinators, support staff, case managers and leadership our jobs in the homes would be impossible.

Cons

I'm still fairly new to the company and haven't found my place yet. It is sometimes a challenge relating to younger colleagues who assume that I don't know how to care for a client because I'm new to my position. I value their experience in the home, but I don't know that they recognize the experience I bring to my position. When I was training in the home, I would have appreciated having someone explain to me the family dynamics and expectations for care. I was given tips like Mom doesn't like the client on her tummy too long, but nothing that really gave me insight into how the family functions or how my position fits in the structure. These aren't really cons to working at PHS, just observations from my early experiences set forth for consideration by others who may be looking at a mid-career path change.

I appreciate your thoughtful review and have shared your feedback with Karletta, our Director of Nursing. We've discussed what's important to keep in mind when working with new hires and ideas that we can implement immediately, based on your experience and recommendations. Hearing that you appreciate open communication affirms that you've picked the right company, as this is something we work hard towards, and do whenever possible. Also, we are definitely sensitive to the challenges of working in the field and needing to feel connected to the office. Our hope is to continue offering things like CEU events and additional teambuilding activities where you feel supported. Hopefully you can make it to our crockpot challenge next week! Thanks so much for joining our team. We're glad you're here! Kelli Ramirez HR Manager 651-789-0940 kjramirez@pediatrichomeservice.com
