Pros

Supportive co-workers and management Many resources to help you care for patients Awesome kiddos & families to care for So many opportunities to learn!

Cons

There is a nursing union which means a lot of decisions are based on seniority only. CNAs are also in a union, which presents some issues. The union does have benefits in terms of protecting patient ratio, PTO, scheduling, and benefits.

Pros

The research was very interesting, and some labs did some really cool stuff. The benefits were also extensive and supportive (especially healthcare).

Cons

Every lab I worked in was terribly disorganized, and the PI's were micromanaging and discouraged Research Technicians from pursuing their passions, and discouraged me from academic research in general.
