Pros

PSH brings up the rear in Healthcare in PA

Cons

The downside of working for a healthcare system that has been around for over a century is that they need to be dragged into the 21st century, Here is a system that has no less than 8 different EMRs and a dozen different ways to schedule tests, imaging and appointments. Call to schedule an Xray and they don't have anything for weeks in Hershey? EIther wait or you the patient call another PSH hospital to schedule because each hospital has their own call center, their own schedulers, their own Medical record system. WIll your Xray at another hospital be available at another PSH hospital? No. Almost nothing talks to each other. The only non-integrated hospital system in PA. Needs EPIC, needs standards, Just so sad. Just my opinions, I could be wrong.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. Penn State Health continuously works to overcome barriers and streamline workflows and processes for members of our workforce. As a relatively young health system with several new hospitals, the integration of technology and services is a priority. We recently completed a system-level improvement project for outpatient radiology exams, which now allows our three dedicated radiology scheduling teams to schedule MRIs, CTs and ultrasounds across all regions of the health system during a single call. Penn State Health continues to invest in improvement, with many similar additional projects underway that will benefit our workforce while enhancing the experience of patients who seek our care.
