Pros
Pennant, and their Core Values called CAPLICO, sound very good, and they would be if they were executed in a true, honest, and authentic way. But as with anything, even good things, can become skewed, biased, or dysfunctional, when impure intentions and motivations contaminate them.
Cons
I waited to post to avoid potentially responding from a place of anger, and the potential to be accused of being a disgruntled former employee. But as time has passed, so has the anger, and clarity of mind has returned. Having plenty of time and opportunity to ponder the events while at Pennant, I can now share that one should be very cautionary in accepting an offer from Pennant. I can say that without anger in my heart. There are values they communicate publicly and then there are unspoken values they practice. The unspoken values are the ones you should concern yourself with the most. These are the practices that can harm you. They'll never admit to them or let them be seen plainly but make no mistake they are there. If you're not deemed to be part of the "in" crowd, then you are ultimately out. Don't believe that they value varied thoughts and opinions. They don't. Only those that suit their ultimate agenda, which always comes back to what they have to gain and is in their best interest and it always helps to follow the money to understand potential motives. When they tout "protecting their culture", make no mistake about what that means. A diverse person, a diverse thought, a diverse opinion that colors outside the lines, just a little too far, threatens their homogenous culture. If someone threatens their ability to maintain control, that is someone they deem as unfit for their culture. Being respectful, truthful, or professional will not save you. Divergent ideas, they can't control, are out! Final conclusion, I'm glad I learned these things quickly so as not to have wasted much time, time I can't get back. Please understand there are always exceptions. There are good people at Pennant. I'm speaking in a general sense regarding my overall experience.
